The listening test is a way for the lecturers to judge our proficiency of understanding English spoken. English is one of the most widely spoken language in the world, and it is very likely for someone to converse in English with a stranger. Being able to understand and interpret what a person says, even if they speak in an unfamiliar accent is crucial for us in the future.

I personally felt that this was the easiest test I have done which held weight in the grading of a module. Some of the accented speech actually threw me off the first time, but I managed to grasp the meaning the second time the audio was played.
